AI is only as good as the data and the people behind it.
I talk about what really works in artificial intelligence, payments and insurance, without the hype: the practical and sometimes messy reality of building it.
As a keynote, panel or workshop. In Spanish or English. Each one adapts to the sector and technical level of the room.
AI is only as good as its data

The Forest of Algorithms
A book that explains artificial intelligence through fairy-tale metaphors, written for professionals who want to understand it without the jargon. It covers the technology, but above all its human side: what changes in our work, in our teams and in ourselves.
It is also the basis of the talk of the same name, which works as well for a board as for a classroom. Published in Spanish as El bosque de los algoritmos.
A serial entrepreneur who has built what he talks about.
Carlos Albo Portero is CEO and co-founder of Wenalyze, which captures and enriches transaction data in real time for banks, insurers and companies across Europe and the Americas. It is the fifth company he has founded.
Before that he spent years at Nokia and Cellnex, and co-founded Aimfri, Spain's first embedded-insurance marketplace. Insurance has stayed with him ever since: he co-founded Innovación Aseguradora, which has published the online-presence ranking of Spanish insurers since 2010, and holds a Master's in Insurance & Risk Management, alongside an MBA from IE and studies at LSE.
He sits on The Payments Association's Open Banking Working Group in the UK and teaches at VIU.
